As with all things in life, the end of 2015 was filled with ups and downs. The month of December started off at a low point as Emma struggled with anxiety and stress related to school, weekends were filled with fighting, holiday gathering posts on Facebook made me miss being "home" in Virginia, and my general "not a fan of Christmas" attitude probably didn't help. But then winter break started and our days were filled to the brim with road tripping, visiting family, and seeing old friends. On our trip back home, we did some talking and made the decision not to move back to VA and to "own" where we are and what got us here and make our life in Georgia what we want it to be. My word for 2016 is CONNECT. My intention for this year is to work on creating connections with our community, our neighbors, friends, and within our own family.
January 2nd, we were gone for 6 hours- the longest we've left Kasper. Josh and I snuggled Emma on the couch, Luke came in to see what we were doing, and Kasper jumped himself up right in between us all----- I'm feeling optimistic that we're off to a good start! Happy New Year!
