Another 3 Day Weekend
Friday morning started at 5 am when Luke texted me to ask if school was closed (why bother running in to ask when he could text:) I checked and yes, they had closed school. It was raining but the weather was supposed to change to snow/ice in the afternoon---and Atlanta doesn't mess around with snow/ice.

January Weekend
They've been releasing water 24/7 since heavy rain at Christmas flooded the lake so Luke finally got to try out his remote control boat on Saturday when they stopped releasing.
Monday was a school holiday and the kids and I drove up to the Mayfield Dairy Farm factory tour. It wasn't amazing for my older kids but they humored me:) The ice cream was yummy and Emma bought a huge pig on clearance for $20 so it wasn't a total bust.

Last Weekend...
- Luke and Josh built a foundry from a YouTube video (Luke is obsessed with this right now)
- Emma and I took Kasper to his first obedience training session
- We tried to make butter in a jar but it didn't work and I cracked the jar with the marbles shaking it too hard
- We went to Repticon which was a experience for sure:)

A Good Day
Because the kid's quarters ended right before break, the Monday after New Years was a teacher work day so they had the day off. It felt like a snow day- very low key, hang around the house kind of day. I resisted the urge to start my post-Christmas cleaning and purging--well, ok, I did tackle one little bookshelf, but after that I tried to hang out with the kids a little more. They played with glow sand, took Kasper out to play, Emma hung more pictures in her room, we made grilled turkey and cheese in the waffle iron, and Luke and I had a lego building contest ( which he clearly won:) It was a good day...
